A Pioneer Picture – The child will remove all the individual pieces from the folder. After looking at each piece, he/she will determine where the shape belongs in the pioneer scene by matching it to the corresponding dotter shape. This is a fun visual discrimination activity that reminds us of our pioneer heritage.
Adam’s Apples – Remove all the apples from the file folder. Look carefully at each individual picture on the apples. Listen to the beginning sound that each picture represents. Place the picture on the apple with the letter that represents that same beginning sound.
Ammon’s Sheep Sorters – This game would be a great review of counting after hearing the story about Ammon from the Book of Mormon. The child removes all the puffs from the folder. Then he looks at each puff and counts how many sheep there are. Carefully place the sheep puff on the corresponding numbered puff in the folder.
Ark Animals – Remove all the cards from the folder. Look at each animal and find it’s mate on the file folder. Match all the animals…two by two.
Bear Your Testimony –Two children can play this bingo game with each other. Place the deck of cards face down. Each player chooses which side of the file folder will be their bear. Each player takes a turn picking a card. If the picture is on their bear they can cover it up. If it isn’t on their bear, they place the card at the bottom of the deck and their turn ends. The first player to bet a row, and “x” or a black out is the winner.
Bible Super Sort – Remove the individual pictures from the folder. After looking carefully at each picture, match them to their corresponding mate according to the correct bible story.
Church Search – Remove all the halves from the file folder. Look carefully at each half and decide who or what it best matches to make a completed church character. Place each half next to it’s matching other half.
Commandment Counters – Look at each individual commandment tablet and count the black dots on each. Place each tablet on the correct numbered tablet in the file folder. Each number represents it’s particular commandment. This is a great activity to not only learn your numbers and counting, but also become more familiar with the ten different commandments.
Count Your Blessings – Remove all hearts from folder. Count the fun faces on each heart and place on the corresponding numbered blessing
Garden of Eden – The child will remove all the individual pieces from the folder. After looking at each piece, he/she will determine where the shape belongs in the Garden of Eden by matching it to the corresponding dotted shape. This is a fun visual discrimination activity that reminds of the story of Adam and Eve.
Grandma’s Grab Bag – Child removes all pieces from folder. Place each item into Grandma’s grab bag by matching the corresponding dotted areas to the shape of the different items.
Grandpa’s Garden – Remove all pieces from the folder. Carefully look at each garden food and then look at the color words on the folder. Match the food to it’s corresponding shape and color.
I Feel My Saviors Love – Remove individual hearts from folder. Look carefully at each heart and visually identify the pattern of each heart. Place each heart on the corresponding heart that matches it in pattern and color that is found on the inside of the file folder.
Jonah’s Whale Tale – Remove all circles from the folder. Look carefully at each picture on the circles. Match each circle picture to the corresponding rhyming picture on the file folder.
Joseph’s Coats of Many Colors – Read each color word on the coats found on the inside of the file folder. Place the correctly colored coat on the corresponding coat with the color word printed on it.
Joseph’s Crazy Coat – Remove all the individual pieces from the file folder. The child will look carefully at each patterned piece and match it to the corresponding pattern on Joseph’s coat of many colors. This is a great visual discrimination activity as well as a super reinforcement of this wonderful bible story.
Keep the Commandments – this game is best when played by two people. Shuffle the small deck of cards and place them face down. Each player chooses the “keep the commandments” board that will be his/hers. Take turns picking a card from the deck. If the commandment is found on your playing board, place it over the matching picture. If it isn’t found on your board, place the card on the bottom of the deck. The game is over when one player has found all the pictures on his board.
Latter-Day Leaders – This game is best when played by two people. Shuffle the game cards and place them face down in a deck. Each player takes a turn picking a card. If that prophet is found on their bingo card they can place it on him. If it is not on their card, they place the card on the bottom of the deck. Each player continues to pick cards until he has filled his bingo card. The winner is the first player to find all his Latter-Day leaders! Individuals can play this game by simply finding and matching the cards to the corresponding leader on the bingo board.
LDS…ABC’s – The child will remove all the circles from the folder. After looking at each picture, he/she will determine what the beginning sound is and place it on the corresponding letter on the file folder. This is not only a fun recognition game of LDS pictures, but it also will reinforce letter sounds.
Lehi’s Liahona Letters – Remove all the circles from the folder. Look carefully at each upper case letter and place it on the matching lower case letter on the folder. Two people could play against each other by placing all the letters face down and taking turns picking a circle. If the letter can be matched on their half of the folder they can put it down. The first player to find all the letters on his half of the folder is the winner.
Missionary Letters – Remove all individual lower case letters from folder. Match each lower case letter to it’s corresponding upper case letter in the file folder.
Mormon Match– Remove all the halves from the file folder. Carefully look at each partial picture and decide which corresponding half it matches. Place each half next to it’s matching other half.Paint Your Wagon – Remove all the tops from the folder. Look at the color of each wagon top and
